Jill O?Brien and Trish Igo are art students, who collect dead animals found on the side of the road, and then document these animals through still photography. Their goal is not to shock, but rather to 'rescue' these animals and document their lives by creating something meaningful and beautiful. The process itself, which is more like performance art, has elaborate rituals such as ?hunting? for the animals, naming and photographing them, doing a ?take?
'Living Poets' is a poetic documentary that examines a group of San Francisco poets who ?reclaim? a heroin-trafficked street corner at the 16th and Mission Bart station every Thursday night. Against a harsh city background, the film follows the story of how the group evolved to performing on the street two years ago. The film documents the ?open mike? performances and questions its impact to the space and its residents. With mixtures of spoken word and musical instruments, the poets politically engage large audiences while fighting the loud city?s atmosphere.

FAMOUS

Jeremy Slater, a struggling New Jersey filmmaker, handed six home-movie cameras to his friends and invited them to a strip-tease party at a seedy ?by-the-hour? motel, instructing them to film ?everything? two hours previous to and during the party. The documentary is constructed of only the footage that was shot by the attendees and was edited under the sensitive supervision of Producer, Joseph Christiana. FAMOUS unwittingly tells the story of how a seemingly harmless night of off-color fun abruptly takes a turn for the worst. Aside from the avant-garde qualities of the director?s vision, the

After six years of work Kris Nethercutt has finished his 20 foot metal statue, Rusty Mechanism. This 3,000 lb. tribute to factory workers was made entirely of old parts gathered from The Factory at Franklin. Rusty has always stood outside of Kris's shop as he built him. After he was completed he was to be transported from Kris's shop to the grounds of The Factory at Franklin. This entire process of moving Rusty to his final spot serves as the subject of this documentary film.

Sara spends many of her weekends driving to visit her mother, a woman suffering from alcoholism, in an attempt to foster a more meaningful relationship with her. Her husband Scott was given the unique oppurtunity to document this process over the course of a particularly difficult one year period.
Memory Theater is B?rang?re Ma?a Parizeau?s first short film. In this experimental documentary, the director unravels the story of her mother, weaving into a poetic landscape the enigmatic fabric of memory. B?rang?re Ma?a Parizeau?s mother, Claudette Jean-Gilles, was the sole survivor of a plane accident. Claudette Jean-Gilles narrates her miracle story. On January 22, 1966, in Haiti, 100 people died.

Poetic short film about the fate of the book, partially based on the short story ?The Library? by Miljenko Jergovic and a poem ?Lament for Vjenica? by Goran Simic. This film tries to capture the most important legacy of Jorge Luis Borges and Jos? Lezama Lima: Love for books and Libraries. It is an exercise of poetic passion for this cultural force. Phrases by Rodrigo Fres?n, Rainer Maria Rilke, Charles Baxter, Elsa Cross, Audre Lorde and others are totally dissolved in this homage to the journey itself, andthose wise words accompanied the images of birds, streets of Sarajevo, the empty patio o

While on the train, fragments of her life emerge and speak subtly and sublimely to the journey of life: of grieving and loss, of happiness and sadness as well as the joyful and reverent gestures of living. At the heart of this film is the woman/filmmaker???s child, shown at various times and spaces in his development as he explores the world around him. It is through him and his growth a

This is an experimental poetic documentary that uses spoken words and images to look at the isolation one feels living in a North American city. This 6 minute short follows a solitary bike ride, where we explore an empty non-descript city. We go along with the bike through the various neighbourhoods of the seemingly empty city. The film examines the questions of what does isolation look like? How do we connect with one of another, living separately within our own boxes? What do we deem important in from what sometimes becomes the decay of our buildings? How do we create community in this c

In between, the narrative winds its way through the history of radioactive paint that, in the 1920?s, young women used on their lips and fingernails, radium suppositories that were marketed to men as an early version of Viagra, and rad

?Well, we?ve learned quite a bit today about the State Bird, the Rhode Island Red and how it became our State Bird and I?m just trying to figure out, what the heck does it all mean??

In 1954 the Rhode Island Red - a breed of domestic fowl developed as a high yield meat and egg producer - was elected state bird of Rhode Island. The story of the Rhode Island Red forms a busy ideological intersection where politics, genetics, iconography, natural history and ecology collide. BIRDSTATE ponders the significance of the RI Red through a series of diverse animated and live action vignettes.

"The Tell-Tale Cell" (A Rehearsal) is a dark comedy. It presents a group of New York actors headed by Terrence G.
In the aftermath of the 2004 elections, it seemed like a good time for a road trip. On Inauguration Day 2005, filmmaker Chris Hume set out on a 6000 mile journey in search of America's soul. He interviewed hundreds of regular citizens in the forgotten corners of America. This is their story.

The film also delves deeper into the "Conspiracy of Silence", where Washington lobbyists and politicians covered up a child pornography ring that they themselves patronized-- a cover-up that went as high as the Reagan White House.
About "Quilombo Country":
Brazil was a brutal and deadly place for slaves. But thousands escaped, while others led uprisings that helped cause the abandonment of plantations.
"Quilombo Country" is about the communities these liberated blacks founded, as they exist today. Included are numerous ceremonies, dances and festivals.
www.quilombofilm.com

In the aftermath of the 2004 elections, it seemed like a good time for a road trip. On Inauguration Day 2005, filmmaker Chris Hume set out on a 6000 mile journey in search of America's soul. He interviewed hundreds of regular citizens in the forgotten corners of America. This is their story.

"The Park" is an inspiring documentary about a neighborhood city park and how its existence effects the people who visit the park and the employees who work there. The story is set in a particular local city park (to symbolize urban parks everywhere) and takes the audience on a journey inside this park and what it means to the people and its surrounding community.

The film's director, motivated by an overwhelming sense of curiosity, with a video camera and a list of questions, decides to set out into his own neighborhood park and talk to the people directly.

Journalist Jeff Plunkett travels from California to Washington D.C. to see for himself the militarization of the nation's capital in the wake of President Bush's War on Terror. Composed as a letter sent back to his home state, Plunkett relies on interviews with a Capitol historian, a U.S. Congressman, a Georgetown psychology professor who specializes in terrorism, and a range of people on the street (from lawyers and lobbyists to barbers and T shirt vendors) to tell the story of a city--and its citizens--changed by terrorism. The resulting letter home to California asks the pertinent question:

This movie was shot for a religion class in 2004. Using theory from the class, I set out to contrast the sacred and profane, entirely Under One Roof (all in the same building,) in Christ Church Cathedral. I had always found it interesting how different the everyday behind-the-scenes hustle and bustle of the Cathedral was when compared to the serenity of the empty church itself. Pretty much a video essay, it has some interesting cinematography, and the effect, I think, it worth seeing.

Fastback

?Fastback? is a personal remembrance of the connection between youth, wonder and the magic of family. The filmmaker traces his fascination with the 1960s Ford Mustang car to his affection for his Grandmother. The Mustang Fastback is just a car, but it brought family to the young boy, so its meaning travels beyond the literal world of metal and oil.

The car has fiscal value in the ?real? world, but the dreams a little boy has of his Grandmother are priceless.

??And dreams are worth everything.?

Over the course of two years, New York filmmaker Sean Kaminsky traveled alone with nothing but a compact digital video camera and a backpack to visit three unique communities: the Rainbow Family in Oregon, the Radical Faeries in Tennessee and the Burning Man Festival in Nevada. The people he met who opened up and shared their compelling experiences of ritual and community formed the documentary 'RitualNation'.

He was always quick with the comebacks and after 25 or 30 pint sized vodka and sodas thats not a small task. But sometimes the booze would take its toll, usually after last call. One night his mask came off and he revealed to me some of why he was killing himself slowly and his tears flowed like rain and I decided that his story needed to be told.

Many people told me he was a liar, amongst other things? but who has not lied and stolen in their lives. I stole

A few meters of flooring, a microcosm in which young and old people live together and sell second-hand clothes, worn-out shoes, rags, second-hand bicycles, broken-down radios, and any other type of object. Attention: Electoral Debate was purposely produced with flickering sequences which are even out of focus at times in order to enhance further one of the film's objectives: "Cinema's centenary."

Tony Scott (Anthony J. Sciacca) was born on the 17th of June 1921 in Morristown, New Jersey.

The film depicts the unique and eclectic personality of this sacred cow of "be-bop." Tony Scott's 55-year career has left an indelible mark on the world of international jazz.

The songs at the beginning and end of the video are from the album "Billie Holliday" with Tony Scott and his Orchestra, in which Tony Scott himself arranged all of the music.

The other two-thirds of this island have been occupied by the United States military and used as a military training site for over 50 years. Training that includes dropping bombs on the island and its surrounding waters, live ammunition war games, and heavy artillery maneuvers through populated areas. Throughout this military occupation, the people of Vieques have been struggling with cancer rates 50% higher than those in Puerto Rico, environmental

Clip from Breasts: A Documentary

Breasts, an hour-long documentary, consists of interviews with twenty-two women - ages 6 to 84-years-old - discussing how breasts play a crucial role in the experiences of puberty, motherhood, sex, health, and aging. Interspersed throughout the documentary are segments of breast-related archival footage including a racy 1920s animated cartoon, a 1950s beauty pageant, and a 1970s bra commercial.

The participants, most of whom appear topless, represent a wide range of age, size, race and background. They include an 11-year-old on the verge of puberty; a breast-feeding mother; a 24-year-old wi

Sample

'Sample' is an experimental 16mm film based on editing colours and light of the film material. It can be seen as a self portrait because the filmmaker appears in it, photographed it, edited it, made the soundtrack for it and produced it. The film provides samples of the protagonist in sound and in vision in search and discovery of self, sexuality, belonging-ness, and tranquillity?

Whipped

WHIPPED is a wry documentary portrait of three women -- Mistress Ava, Carrie and Sonja -- who are professional dominatrixes in New York City. The women of WHIPPED claim that their work -- "acting out fantasy role-play" is not prostitution, but as this film reveals, in the sex industry, such distinctions are misleading.

WHIPPED is a behind-the-scenes look the the work and personal lives of these dominatrixes, and the heart of the film lies between flamboyant performance and the elusive realm of private fantasy. The intimacy between the female filmmakers and the characters allows the audie

Good Kid, Bad Kid

I'm not going to even try to get into this one. All I can say is that I made the film to give kids the chance to speak and be heard. SO LISTEN DAMN IT!!! Kids are a lot smarter then we give them credit. However short I came of my goals with this one, I'm glad that I at least gave these kids a chance to be heard. So don't be a stupidhead adult. Tom Tomorrow was kidding when he called them insane dwarves. Listen to those little people.
